Our SENJORO team is made up of qualified, professional, empathetic and, above all, loving professionals. While the administration and the coordinators of the city offices keep the programme running smoothly, our social worker assistants spend their days with seniors. This allows us to focus not only on the care of the seniors, but also on their socialisation, bringing more good emotions, warm communication over a cup of coffee, and interesting events and outings organised by SENJORO into their lives.
SENJORO is much more than the job I go to every day. It is a group of sincere people working for a common goal - a positive old age in Lithuania.
SENJORO's work is a huge change in our country. We are creating a positive old age by introducing innovations in the sector that have never been seen before.
There are no big or small jobs, as long as you strive with all your heart for a beautiful goal. My goal today is to help people to live better than they did yesterday.
Working with seniors is a way to learn unique life stories and gain wisdom. It is an activity that inspires me every day and makes my life meaningful.
My work is truly extraordinary. My job is to help others!
Helping people is the most important part of my job. I am glad to be able to follow this path.
I am inspired by the fact that I can help others. I am one of those people who find it easier to give than to receive. And our SENJORO team is always ready to help.
It's nice to help people who don't have relatives around, that feel lonely or can't cope with household chores. Their gratitude is invaluable to me.
The reason why I enjoy working in the SENJORO team is that every time I go home, I realize anew how much my help is needed and appreciated.
I like to look after people and help them as much as I can. I like to make people feel happy when I take care of them, when I show them attention.
The fact that people wait for you with open doors and welcoming hearts, trust you and share their joys and sorrows with yout is the greatest incentive to do this job.
I like working here because I have met so many warm people. The bond you form with each senior is very important and special. Every time I come to a senior citizen and see their eyes shining with happiness, I realize that I made the right choice.
I am happy to be part of SENJORO. I like working with elderly people. As I have a disabled son myself, I try to listen and understand the seniors as well as I can and that is what they miss the most.
People think that happiness is to have and to receive and to be served by others. In reality, happiness is found in giving and serving others.
I'll be honest - I really love my job. And the reason for that is that every senior I visit is as important and loved by me as my own children.
It is a great privilege for me to be able to be the "hands and feet" of seniors when they are no longer in control of their own.
Svarbu būti reikalinga... kažkam. Žmogus vienas savo skausme ir bėdose. Kiti gali padėti, užjausti, paguosti, pasakyti gerą žodį. Tai vienišam senjorui geriausias vaistas, koks tik gali būti.
RIMI is our partner in Klaipėda. When they opened a new store in Klaipėda, RIMI gave our social worker assistants a virtual "Silver Line" training on communication with seniors, as well as 80 RIMI gift cards to congratulate the seniors on their birthdays. Moreover, they activated the special RIMI discount cards for all the social worker assistants, with additional discounts for our seniors.
We are delighted with our friendship and are grateful for the indispensable help RIMI provides to seniors in their daily lives. Food and household goods are inevitable for everyone, but seniors need discounts more than anyone else. Also, the unexpected gift sets of essential necessities presented by RIMI make our clientele especially happy.
Our seniors know that Biržai has the oldest traditions of the bread and pastry baking. "Kmyninė", which distributes Biržai Bread products, takes part in every birthday celebration of our senior customers. In January, when the company became a SENJORO partner, it set up a monthly delivery of the freshly baked presents. Our customers especially praise the šakočiai, saying that they have never tasted better ones!
While our seniors enjoy pastry, we cherish this friendship and admire not only the quality of Biržai Duona's products and the traditions it upholds, but also their great respect for sustainability and their kindness to the seniors, which is much appreciated.
100 smiles more
Meet "100 Smiles More", a social project run by the Vilnius Rotari Club for one of the most vulnerable social groups in Lithuania - lonely, impoverished elderly people. This is another organisation of young people who care about important things. Just recently, we organized a joint action to surprise 63 lonely and poor clients in Kaunas and Marijampolė. We gave them pharmacy gift vouchers, groceries and books to keep them healthy, nourished and occupied!
