The National Institute for Social Integration is launching the implementation of a project aimed at providing socio-cultural services to socially vulnerable individuals and people experiencing social risk (exclusion) in the city of Lazdijai.<\/p>

The project will contribute to addressing the main challenge \u2013 social isolation and declining emotional well-being among older people in Lazdijai. The project activities responding to this issue include: \u201cPositive Aging Club Picnics\u201d; \u201cThe Chest of Experience\u201d: intergenerational dialogue and exchange of traditions; \u201cPositive Aging Club Celebrations\u201d.
Expected project results:
1. Reduction of social isolation and loneliness.
2. Strengthened relationships between different age groups.
3. Increased involvement of seniors in the cultural and social life of the community.
4. Promotion of volunteering and active aging.<\/p>

During the project, activities will involve at least 65 unique residents of Lazdijai city. The National Institute for Social Integration is launching the implementation of a project aimed at creating an organized volunteering structure that encourages residents\u2019 involvement, strengthens community spirit and reduces social exclusion by promoting the development of social connections.<\/p>

The project addresses the following challenges:\u00a0
1. Social exclusion of residents and weak community cohesion.
2. Lack of volunteers and limited volunteering traditions.
3. Overload of the social services system and limited human resources.
The identified challenges will be addressed through the following activities: strengthening social connections of residents experiencing social exclusion within the community; promoting volunteering activities (including consulting and informing individuals planning to participate in volunteering and organizations accepting volunteers), organizing volunteering activities and providing volunteer training.<\/p>

During the project, activities will involve at least 60 unique residents of Tel\u0161iai city. The National Institute for Social Integration together with partners: the Pasvalys branch of the Lithuanian Pensioners\u2019 Union \u201cBo\u010diai\u201d and Pasvalys Social Services Centre, is launching the implementation of a project aimed at promoting social integration of socially vulnerable seniors in Pasvalys city and encouraging their active participation in community life through cultural, educational, health promotion and other community-based activities.<\/p>

The planned project activities \u2013 group sessions, educational activities, physical activity initiatives, promotion of volunteering and mediation support \u2013 directly respond to the objectives and expected results of this action. The need for the project is based on both qualitative and quantitative data. According to the data of the Lithuanian Department of Statistics, people over 65 years old represent a significant share of the population of Pasvalys district (approximately 25\u201330%), and demographic aging trends continue to increase.<\/p>

During the project, activities will involve at least 70 unique residents of Pasvalys city. The National Institute for Social Integration is launching the implementation of a project aimed at organizing preventive and other complex social measures for people experiencing social exclusion and social risk by introducing an e-care service system into the home assistance system of Tel\u0161iai city. The project introduces an innovative solution \u2013 e-care services that enable SENJORO to manage resources more efficiently and ensure continuous 24\/7 monitoring without increasing the number of staff. The project directly contributes to the vision of Tel\u0161iai city strategy \u2013 creating a socially inclusive and innovative city of Tel\u0161iai.<\/p>

The problem addressed: social exclusion of older people and people with disabilities, limited accessibility of home assistance services and increased health risks due to undetected critical events.<\/p>

Expected project results:
1. Continuous 24\/7 e-care monitoring at home for 45 people, identifying health and safety risks.
2. Rapid response to critical events (teleconsultations, emergency assistance or informing relatives).
3. Improved accessibility and efficiency of social services.<\/p>

The National Institute for Social Integration together with the partner Ma\u017eeikiai Cerebral Palsy Association is launching the implementation of a project aimed at developing motivation and social-psychological skills of persons experiencing social exclusion and social risk within the territory of the Ma\u017eeikiai Local Action Group.<\/p>

Considering the problems and their causes identified in the Ma\u017eeikiai Local Action Group strategy, the project aims to:<\/p>

1. Reduce social isolation of seniors by creating opportunities for regular participation in events and activities that encourage communication.
2. Strengthen community spirit and social connections, which is one of the goals identified in the strategy.
3. Improve access to information about available services and support people in using them by implementing information, mediation and consultation activities of the Social Services Catalogue with the help of volunteers.
4. Ensure emotional support and creation of a safe environment, which is necessary to achieve the social inclusion goals for older people set out in the strategy.<\/p>

After the implementation of the project, significant changes are expected \u2013 social isolation and loneliness of at least 40 persons experiencing social exclusion or social risk will be reduced; their emotional well-being, quality of life and social activity will improve; awareness of available health, social and community services will increase; community involvement and volunteering practices in the city will be strengthened.<\/p>

The National Institute for Social Integration together with its partner MB \u201cDecima technologijos\u201d is launching the implementation of a project. The main goal of the project is to create a globally innovative product \u2013 the GenPlanGO tool for assessing an individual service recipient\u2019s situation, preparing an individual social service plan, monitoring its implementation and measuring its impact. The assessment of service impact will be linked to internationally recognized and nationally measured indicators, such as the Active Ageing Index. This will allow individual clients\u2019 quality-of-life indicators to be connected with indicators monitored at the national level. The GenPlanGO system is relevant for organizations providing social services both at home and in institutional settings.<\/p>

Project outcomes: Creation of the electronic service ordering system of \"Senjoro\" and mobile application \"Social Taxi.\" These tools will contribute to more convenient service ordering online: mobile app \"Social Taxi\" will allow clients to order services, pay for them and track the progress of their order (travel information and real-time location of a car) using a smart device. After updating \"Senjoro\" service booking system, services will also be booked in the digital space. Potential customers will be able to immediately order the service they need by entering the necessary data and, after being provided with the service, pay for it through their account in \"Senjoro\" system.<\/p>

PI National Institute for Social Integration is implementing the project \"Person-to-Person\" co-financed by the European Social Fund under Measure No 08.3.2-ESFA-K-415 \"54+\" for the implementation of Priority 8 \"Increasing social inclusion and combating poverty\" of the 2014-2020 European Union Funds Investment Operational Programme.<\/p>

The project aim is to create favorable conditions for elderly people of working age to engage in voluntary activities in the social sphere and remain active in the labor market for a longer period of time.<\/p>

The target group of the project - the elderly people of working age (55 and over) living in the municipalities of Utena, Zarasai, Mol\u0117tai, Ignalina and Anyk\u0161\u010diai.<\/p>

On 28 and 29 July 2020, in the beautiful township of Antaliept\u0117 of Zarasai district, cultural awareness and expression training events of the project \"Person-to-Person\" were organised, during which participants had the opportunity to learn more about the historical heritage of Antaliept\u0117 and Salakas townships, try their hand at Spanish culinary heritage, discover new hobbies and make new friends. The event lasted all day, and in the morning of the next day another group enthusiastically embarked on the same programme.<\/p>

The participants started the programme with a discussion about Lithuanian traditions and customs \u2013 they had the opportunity to learn about herbs and make tea from them, as well as taste healthy snacks prepared by the chef. After refreshing themselves, the participants traveled around Antaliept\u0117, where they visited not only the most interesting places of interest, such as the Monastery of Barefoot Carmelites, its cellars, the hydropower plant and the Old Watermill of Antaliept\u0117, they also took a walk along the beautiful \u0160ava\u0161a educational trail. While walking through the forests of Antaliept\u0117, the participants learned a lot of new information from the guide about forest plants and ancient Lithuanian ritual traditions near the L\u016b\u017eai Stone with a bowl. Hungry after their active walk, the participants had the opportunity to cook traditional Spanish dishes together with the chef and then taste them. The participants not only benefitted from culinary advice from the chef, but also shared their own experiences and discussed the best ways to prepare food.<\/p>

In the afternoon, the participants went on an excursion in Salakas township. This township is famous not only for its exceptional natural beauty, but also for its rich history and culture. The project participants had the opportunity to visit the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Salakas, the old Jewish and Tatar cemeteries, barrows and and learn more about the park itself and the exhibition of marine exhibits collected by Vida \u017dilinskien\u0117 at Gra\u017eut\u0117 Regional Park Visitor Center. The participants had the good chance to hear about the 4,500 exhibits collected over a lifetime from 94-year-old Vida herself!<\/p>

The whole event was full of smiles, interesting thoughts, self-reflections and engaging discussions making the time spent together truly creative, productive and meaningful. Last week, we had another event in Mol\u0117tai and Utena as part of the \"Person-to-Person\" project of the National Institute for Social Integration. During two days of \"Cultural Awareness and Expression\" classes, participants could learned even two new crafts \u2013 candle making and macram\u00e9 weaving; also, they visited two museums \u2013 the Lake Fishing and Antanas Truskauskas Hunting Exhibition and Utena Regional Museum, learned how to properly relax in yoga classes, where they also has a closer look at the Eastern culture, developed their taste in coffee education session and even got acquainted with the latest technologies in the virtual educational space \"Mol\u0117tai kitaip\" (Mol\u0117tai Differently)<\/p>

The event was full of smiles, questions from curious participants, interesting facts, new friendships, and simple warmth!<\/p>

The \"Person-to-Person\" project aims to involve the elderly people, people of pre-retirement age in voluntary activities or help them successfully reintegrate in the labor market. On 22\u201323 July 2019, Utena hosted a cultural awareness and expression event organized by the project \"Person to Person\", during which participants had the opportunity to learn more about the culture of Lithuania and other countries, spend time creatively, try their hand at new activities and discover new hobbies and acquaintances.<\/p>

Participants began both days with morning exercises, during which they had active sports activities and relaxation exercises based on meditation and yoga practices. The exercises woke up both, the bodies and minds of the participants: before the exercises, the participants did self-awareness tasks, willingly sharing their observations and unexpected discoveries about their qualities and character. The exercises and original self-awareness tasks inspired strength and positive attitude for the rest of the programme which was indeed filled with a wide variety of activities, classes and discussions!<\/p>

On the first day, participants familiarized themselves with the concept of culture, discussed what can and cannot be called culture, explored distinctive features of Lithuania's culture. This discussion was followed by two methodological games that encouraged participants to think about our role in shaping the culture of our country, the important cultural, social and historical events that have marked our lives, and why they are important to us.<\/p>

In the afternoon, a film screening took place in the cozy hall of A. and M. Mi\u0161kiniai Public Library, followed by a sensitive and interesting discussion about why we sometimes feel constrained by our culture, how to free ourselves, and what we can learn from other cultures.<\/p>

At the end of the day, participants had the opportunity to briefly forget their familiar everyday selves and try an actor's role during a theater session. The director of Utena Chamber Theater, who led the theater session, introduced participants to the behind-the-scenes world of the theater, shared his knowledge about the art of performing, and allowed participants to feel what it means to be an actor, encouraging them to step out of their comfort zone and gain new experiences. The fact that this activity took place on the stage of Utena Chamber Theater helped participants to better put themselves in the role of an actor.<\/p>

Participant Aldona, in describing the special atmosphere created during the session, picturesquely said that she heard \"the muse of creativity playing\" and that the two hours devoted to the session seemed to \"fly by like five minutes\".<\/p>

On the second day, participants went on an excursion to Utena Regional Museum, where they learned about the culture and history of Utena region. During this excursion, participants had the unique opportunity to be among the first to see the new exhibition on the history of Utena with a computer terminal, where they could interactively learn about the history of the city, its interesting facts and events. After the excursion, the participants agreed that they could have spent the whole day at the museum \u2013 there were still so many exhibits to see and stories to hear.<\/p>

Participant Laima, who was visiting the museum for the second time, was delighted to have learned something new again. After lunch, the participants gathered again in the hall of A. and M. Mi\u0161kiniai Public Library, where the programme continued with discussions about different foreign cultures and cultural stereotypes.<\/p>

The second day was topped off with a brainstorming session where participants could apply in practice the cultural knowledge they have gained.<\/p>

The whole event was full of smiles, interesting thoughts, self-reflection and captivating discussions, making the time spent together truly creative, productive and meaningful.<\/p>
