It is important that municipalities set the goal of providing services to everyone who needs these services and ensure that services are provided as soon as possible after applications are approved. Therefore, the "Senior" team highly values the cooperation with the municipality of Lazdijai district, which was established in April of this year.
The Department of Social Support and Health of the Lazdijai district municipal administration, seeing the increased demand of applicants for home help services and aiming to ensure that applicants receive the help they need as soon as possible, initiated a cooperation agreement with the National Institute of Social Integration in April of this year Senior programs that provide accredited home help services, signing.
According to the data of the municipality of Lazdijai district, in 2022 at the beginning, there were 12 residents of the district waiting in line to receive home assistance services. Therefore, the department is happy to have smooth cooperation with "Senior" thanks to the fact that there is currently no waiting list for this service, although requests are received almost every day.
Modestas Bastys, the development manager of Senjoro, shares that they currently provide services to almost 30 clients in the municipality of Lazdijai district and have created 8 new jobs for individual care workers. In total, more than 2,700 hours were provided during this time. services for the elderly at home.
"We are ready to promptly and qualitatively provide the services needed by seniors at home. Here, close cooperation with municipalities, which are ready to promptly accept customer requests and introduce them to service providers, helps us a lot. The operative response in this process allows us and the municipalities to take care of those who need help the most as soon as possible", says M. Bastys, adding that this is exactly how smooth work with the municipality of Lazdijai district looks like.
In addition to a smoothly functioning service structure, well-considered financing of the service is also important, says the development manager of "Senjoro". He does not hide that until now, he has to face challenges when the costs of services for seniors at home provided by the municipalities are set lower than the necessary costs - for example, the compensated amount of the service, providing a lower than the necessary wages of individual care workers.
The head of development says that after starting cooperation with the municipality of Lazdijai district, from the first meetings, their views on creating a positive old age and evaluating individual care workers coincided.
"The leadership and administration of the Lazdijai district municipality welcomed us very warmly as a new provider of services for seniors at home. Together, we promptly resolved the issues that arose from the very beginning of the cooperation, and today the result of all this is the happy seniors of the municipality of Lazdijai district, who were able to quickly receive the help they needed. We are convinced that this is a very solid basis for creating a positive old age in the municipality of Lazdijai district, which we hope will become an excellent example for other municipalities and eventually expand to the whole of Lithuania", says M. Bastys.
